The university medical centre of Ljubljana recently invested in 200 Evacuation Mats to level up their emergency evacuation plan.
The project came to live after a year of surveying, planning and training. Hospitals install evacuation devices to provide a means of escape for people with mobility disabilities before the emergency services arrive.
The evacuation devices will be installed across all departments to ensure quick access when disaster strikes.
A completely personalised storage system
The hospital decided to purchase a completely personalised storage system. The Wall Cover, which is used to mount the Evacuation Mattress to the wall, carries the hospital logo and the Slovenian text: ‘Evakuacji Vzmetnica’.
That’s the Slovenian word for Evacuation Mat.
Signs to highlight the location of the installed evacuation device will also be installed by the hospital:
Training started in 2021
Already in 2021, the hospital started training its staff members on how to use the evacuation mattresses. In addition, they have also recorded the practice on video to ensure other staff members can learn as well.
