BKH St. Johann in Tirol has taken a major step forward in patient safety by installing 250 permanently integrated S-CAPEPOD® Evacuation Sheets across its facility. With this investment, the hospital ensures that no patient is left behind, even in the most critical moments.
Rapid evacuation, even by a single caregiver
In emergencies such as a fire, every second counts. The evacuation sheets are stored beneath mattresses, ready to use within seconds. This enables caregivers to quickly wrap the patient, pull the mattress out of the bed, and evacuate safely, even down staircases, without the need for multiple staff.

Strong collaboration with local fire services
The success of this project is closely tied to the collaboration with the local fire department, Freiwillige Feuerwehr St. Johann in Tirol. Fire service leaders visited the hospital to observe the system in action and receive practical training from hospital staff. This ensures smoother coordination and faster response times in a real emergency.
