What is an evacuation chair?
An evacuation chair is used to evacuate less mobile persons, such as wheelchair users, during a calamity. This can also be done by stairs. During a calamity, the lift can probably no longer be used. This way, immobile persons can be brought to the ground floor. A well-known brand among evacuation chairs is the Evac Chair. An alternative to an evacuation chair is an evacuation mattress. Nowadays there are also electric evacuation chairs.
A carry chair is used to horizontally move immobile persons during a calamity. The carry chair is used for the evacuation of hospital patients or with evacuation in other care facilities. By using the carry-handles, the person can also be lifted to the ground floor. It is a variant on the evacuation chair or the stretcher.
